A Special Anniversary for Aerjen & Monique

from the Netherlands

In every country there is a special, though maybe seemingly unusual, custom. In most countries, people celebrate jubilees on their 10th, 20th, even 25th anniversaries. In Holland, maybe because of their famous parties (like Assen), they also celebrate their 12.5th anniversary!

This October, the Dutch couple Aerjen Mooijweer & Monique Broekmeulen will celebrate 12.5 years together as a dance couple. And because this is especially unique in the dancing world - where people changes partners like they would changing clothes in a shop - Dancesportinfo wants to congratulate Aerjen & Monique for this very special occasion!

But for everybody else, who are they?

Except for their 12.5th anniversary, this year Aerjen & Monique won their 10th National title and represented Holland in all disciplines (see their results page). They are the current Dutch champions in Ballroom and 10 Dance, and were semi-finalists in last years 10-dance World championship in Canada.

They are both very spontaneous and sporting, and do as much as possible for dancing. Real ambassadors, and should be proud of it!

Aerjen & Monique represented Holland at the Amateur Latin World Championships on the 9th of October in Leipzig, Germany and celebrated their anniversary with their Dutch friends and family there.

On the 16th of October they will be in Moldavia to dance the European 10 Dance Championships and in the end of this month they will be Dutch representatives in the Amateur Standard at the World Standard Championships in Vilnius, Lithuania. A very busy life which is not possible without support of their parents, friends and their bosses.

We hope they will reach their 20th; of course with good results!
